Chopper Crash

ILL FATED CHOPPER CAUSES RESTLESSNESS IN NANDI

The scene of the crash landed police chopper has become a bee hive of hectic activities for journalists, detectives, photographers and curious locals from all walks of life who want to have a glimpse of the fatal incident. Locals from far flung remote areas of the district are trooping to the scene that has become a centre of attraction to curious visitors. The chopper crash landed immediately after take off at Kapsabet Kipchoge stadium and was carrying high ranking government officials to burnt forest and then Mogotio Eldama ravine. The government delegation was in Rift valley on a singular mission to officially hand over the police housing projects from the public works ministry to the police department. On board during the ugly incident were internal security assistant minister Orwa Ojodeh, police commissioner major General Hussein Ali, Rift valley PC Noor Hassan Noor and his police counterpart Joseph Ashamala. The incident caused a big scare forcing the chief guests prof. George Saitoti and Dr. Chris Obure to alight from their military chopper and rushed panicking to the accident scene. They then abandoned their military chopper for alternative means of transport. The medical personnel at Kapsabet district hospital had field day attending to the injured while local KANU officials led by Margret cherop had busy time supplying food drinks to the survivors. Present during the official handing over of the housing project were area mp Elijah Lagat, area DC Fred Ndambuki, ACK bishop Thomas Kogo, former area mp Stephen Tarus, internal security PS Mr. Kimemia and area administration police commandant Peter Malakwen. The area DC was showered with praises before his seniors from the Red Cross, the Nandi county council and the local Maendeleo ya Wanawake group for spearheading the operation Rudi Nyumbani with elegance.
